The website was created and revised to make it accessible to the majority of the main current browsers, pursuant to the guidelines defined in the document, 'Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0', based on the WAI working group of W3C.

These guidelines aim to facilitate access to the information offered via the Internet to all citizens. The main measures adopted include the following:

XHTML 1.0 transitional is the language used for the content and structure, and to make the elements available and display them graphically CSS sheets were used. All pages have been validated as XHTML 1.0 transitional and the style sheets as CSS 2.1

All images contain a brief description via the attribute alt.

All links contain a description via the attribute title.

Font Size

The fonts used have relative dimensions which enable the user to control its size from the browser he/she is using.

Shortcut keys

Provide fast and direct access to the main sections. The following lists the main shortcuts available on the website:

  •    1: Go to home page
  •    2: Go to criminal section
  •    3: Go to civil section
  •    4: Go to contact section

The method for activating the shortcut keys depends on the browser. The most frequent are:

  •    Internet Explorer: ALT + letter + ENTER
  •    Firefox: ALT + SHIFT + letter
  •    Netscape: ALT + letter
  •    Opera: SHIFT + ESC + letter

The website enables coherent navigation by maintaining the same structure on all of its pages:

  •    A main horizontal menu on all of the pages with links to the main sections of the website.
  •    Tabs along the top, to the right, showing the four languages the website can be viewed in.
  •    A submenu along the bottom, on the right hand side, containing the secondary sections, such as the site map, legal notice, accessibility and privacy policy.

This website uses CSS sheets and layers for the visual design of its pages. The content can therefore be independent of the presentation and the users that desire it can browse information and deactivate the downloading of style pages in their browser.
